Aries New Moon; If Not Now, When?

This is the first new moon of the astrological year. The start of the suns transit in the sign of Aries coincides with spring in the northern hemisphere, signifying a new season, and brand new beginnings. During a new moon, the sun and moon sit side by side, making for a dark sky at night. The moon doesn’t reflect any light during this phase which often influences our own quiet introspection or lowers our overall energy. However, the world isn’t so quiet right now is it? Anxiety is high, fear is rampant, illness is spreading, the atmosphere is buzzing.

Aries, the first sign of the tropical zodiac, is the initiator, the warrior, ruled by the planet Mars. Aries is also our survival instinct, the ‘me first’ complex. The sun + moon have a super potent aspect to the asteroid, Chiron, also known as the wounded healer. There’s an urgency for us to collectively heal the wound surrounding the anger that pits us against one another and sparks the fire of initiation into taking direct action FOR each other. For the greater good. For humanity as a whole. For our planet and all its inhabitants.

Each zodiac sign governs or is associated with a body part or bodily function. Aries governs the head, its headstrong nature can lead us to approach these times from a destructive warlike mentality with brute force and recklessness. If you’re familiar with the Wonder Woman film released in 2017, you can easily imagine the Aries archetype operating from a place of ‘me against the world’, and the ruin caused by such rage.

We need to attack global issues not each other. We need to know when to stop arguing for the sake of trying to prove ourselves or our beliefs, release the need to blame others for our reality, take responsibility, and initiate leadership. The leadership we crave is a mirror to the leader we ourselves need to become. Now is the time! “If not now, when? If not you, who?”

We may not all share one vision for humanity, yet we all have something to contribute, a skill to share, that will advance life as we know it. If only we can see the value in each other. This is a new trail for us all, we don't know where were going or what's on the other side, but we can meet it bravely, courageously, and passionately.

In Latin mythology, Mars was referred to as ‘Mars Gradivus’ from the Latin root “grandiri” meaning to become big, to grow. Where there’s an obstacle, there’s also an opportunity. This is a supported opportunity to grow together and to become bigger than that which separates us.

The New Moon in Aries is exact on March 24, 2020 around 3:30 a.m. MST.

With much going on in the world I concluded to keep this brief. There’s a lot of questions on the current events in correlation to astrology. I will do my best to share periodic updates on my instagram, however, it feels less is more as we are all bombarded with daily stimulation. In better news, I’ve discounted my readings for the time being. It would be a pleasure to connect, reflect, and uncover compassionate ways to support your optimal well-being through these interesting times.
