The clouds above moved gently from the breath of summers breeze. Cloud shadows cast overtop the landscape shifting the perspective with each gust and carrying faint scents of hardy foliage. The sun was rising overhead blanketing the earth in its warmth, ascending in the sky, as we were ascending the mountain one purposeful step at a time. Nothing but the sounds of the winds whispers and my camera’s shutter. The best sounds. Flowers reached out to the blue sky- begging for rain- but bowing in gratitude to the light. “Survival can be a struggle” I note. One that ebbs and flows, blooms and grows, and then settles to seed. Until next season, until the seeds start to sprout.
The foliage on the valley floor is past its prime however high alpine flowers are still decorating mountain and lakesides. All of the captures from this series were taken during our Cinnamon Mountain Summit which took place in the beginning of July, though when out recently I’ve noticed lingering patches of color in the forms of fireweed, aster, and last-minute larkspur.
I hope you all enjoyed yet another wildflowers series from me, ha! Natures landscapes bring me great joy and (wild)flowers soothe my soul, maybe you needed a dose of mountain medicine too. If so, this ones for you! ♥
