To Everything There Is A Season

Hi friends, after an extra long, mostly unexpected hiatus I have returned just as the wildflowers do each spring. This winter was long, and hard in many ways, but spring blossomed with bright, new beginnings, many of which I look forward to sharing more of here. In the time I’ve been away I’ve completed several astrology courses with teachers and mentors; Debra Silverman, Chani Nicholas, and Sarah Gordon as well as a Lunar Prana Vinyasa (yoga) teacher training with Monica Mesa Dasi and Devon Sweeney, and will embark on another (yin) yoga teacher training scheduled later this month. Field Of Dreams Crested Butte, Colorado

Summer solstice ahh! This is probably my favorite day of the year, the celebration of the summer season. Long sun soaked days, warm balmy nights, the simple sounds made by the birds and the bugs, the contrast of bluebird skies and lush green landscapes. The feeling is relative to standing underneath a waterfall of fireworks only better because the magic isn’t manmade. No one landscaped the wild, there was no miracle grow…

Fathering Forgiveness

There were many years I didn’t speak to my father on Fathers Day. Many years I didn’t even know him or whether he was alive or dead. Most would have filed him under the deadbeat dad category never realizing the impact the judgements and assumptions had on the daughter. The daughter of a deadbeat. We sat there for hours until I hit a wall emotionally….

My Golden Birthday And Decade of Freedom

Today is my birthday! Not only my birthday but my golden birthday! For those who aren’t familiar with golden birthdays (I wasn’t until last year when my mother in law informed me) it is when your age and the numerical date of your birthday match. So in my case I’m 28 on the 28th! Today is also much more significant to me than just my golden birthday, though I feel it’s very sychronistic that my golden birthday falls on the day I celebrate a decade of freedom. You see, I could be celebrating that I’ve been an adult for 10…

6 Ways To Celebrate Earth Day Through Sustainable Alternatives

Happy Earth Day! I am no expert on any of this by any means but I can’t deny that pollution is a problem! We all love the Earth yet we don’t always show our love through our actions. Many times we’re simply unaware of the consequences of our choices plus we live within a society that doesn’t make it easy to avoid polluting our most precious resource. We’ve also become so accustomed to lives of convenience it’s challenging for us to break away from the most common culprits of pollution. In many instances we don’t even have another option to choose…
