Spring Hikes And Family Visits

My mom was visiting Colorado (from Delaware) over the last week which is why I was MIA from the blogosphere. Precious time with family takes priority over many other things especially when you see them only once or twice a year. Time with my parents is especially valuable to me and seems to increase with each passing year. We took my mom hiking up to ‘The Caves’ which happens to be the same spot as Spring Landscapes Crested Butte, Colorado though the sun was much more plentiful. It wasn’t Cinnamon Mountain but it is still has incline that takes your breath away…

6 Tips for Road Tripping With Dogs

You all may have noticed that we never leave the dog behind while traveling near or far. Yes, in 3 years not once have we set sail or trail without him -though to be perfectly clear he doesn’t like boats at all. The Stress of Visiting Home

Since moving back to Colorado in 2013 I’ve had mixed emotions when it comes to visiting home. On one hand it is extremely exciting, the anticipation of seeing loved ones I may see only once a year or once every other year, and to see how little Ole Delaware has been since I’ve been away. And then there is the overstimulation of excitement from everyone who wants to get together. It is a gift to be so loved and to have many people want to spend time with you but it can also be completely overwhelming. Maybe you can relate?…

Red Lady Salvation Ball

Hi my friends! After an unexpected absence from the blogosphere I am thrilled to be here again. February has proved to be a jam-jelly-packed month from celebrations, visiting friends, to simply keeping up with day-to-day life. Last weekend we attended the 41st Annual Red Lady Salvation Ball and honored the beloved mountain that rises over our town as well as the people who protect it. Red Lady also known as Mt. Emmons has been under threat of a molybdenum mine for many years but because of the dedicated individuals and long-standing efforts of  High Country Conservation Advocates  Red Lady has remained…
