New moons are like an enchanted path into sacred introspection, the holy darkness of fertility.

The last couple of weeks I’ve had a hard time writing. Writing is one of my rituals (says the Gemini moon) but the end of the dark season asked me to meet myself and spirit in other ways.
March 8, the week of big cosmic shifts and epic, dizzying blizzards brought us to a profound place of surrender. We were trying to keep up with the snow and stay above it, literally and figuratively.
The climate we live in is extreme to many but it’s just home to the rest of us. We hadn’t really had a day off from our own business all winter though that’s not out of the ordinary we had started restructuring, working on making shifts to live beyond our business.
That Friday after lunch, tired and sore, Alex said let’s dance and so we did. We danced within the swirling snow to Nahko & Medicine for the People. We danced until our vitality was restored, until our light was back in tact.
That was almost our last dance together. Later that evening we were each working at different properties in relatively close vicinity to one another. We had a loose plan of when we would be finished and since we shared a vehicle that day I was expecting Alex’s return.
I don’t remember the exact time but I remember the feeling. I felt something was gravely wrong and time was precious. At that point I had a low cell battery and no charger but I made 2 calls to Alex before my phone died.
Panic tried to creep in but something so much bigger came and took over. I was able to get my phone to turn on again but as I made an outgoing call it died once again.
I began to breathe deeply, harnessing the infinite energy that surrounds us and I called out loud for guidance. I tried my phone once more and it came on with 1% battery just enough to execute a rescue plan. I knew I had to be resourceful.
I texted my mom thousands of miles away and gave her intricate instructions on what to do, asked her not to call my phone and briefly explained I needed help. She did everything flawlessly and timely.

The Sun has moved into Pisces and the full super moon is in Virgo creating an opposition in the sky.
Pisces is a water sign ruled by Neptune and Virgo an earth sign ruled by Mercury. Pisces is the empath, highly attuned to the collective, the mystic, poet, artist, dancer, photographer, filmmaker- the creative spirit of many mediums.
Virgos are the selfless servants, they came to serve. They are practical, grounded, health conscious, discerning, thorough and detail oriented.
Virgo likes tangible, practical dealings while Pisces prefers to be merrily floating around the dreamworld.
When we utilize the energies of both these signs we can activate a balance between polarities. We can make our dreams practical by harnessing Virgo's attention to detail and grounded nature bringing structure to our dreams/goals so they become a fantastic reality instead of a realistic fantasy.
While Pisces and Virgo are opposites they certainly share common ground. Virgo can be highly self critical because they have such high standards and expectations of themselves. And although they are the selfless servants they also have a tendency to get distracted so much by others they forget about their own selves and needs.
Pisces has a tendency to feel things so deeply and pick up feelings from others, they look for an escape route to channel the heaviness of emotion. Because of their ability to dissolve boundaries they sometimes find themselves lost in someone else, loosing their own sense of identity in someone else's narrative.
How can we honor these? First, check in with yourself. What needs more attention?
Perhaps you need more of Pisces fluidity -loosen up a bit, connect to your breath through comfortable meditation, restorative yoga, free write in your journal, dance a jig, paint or color without the highly critical voice that kills your joy. Give that voice the night off!
Or maybe you need a bit more structure and organization. It might be best to clean your house, tidy up clutter, structure your goals in a spreadsheet or vision board and get clear on how to bring them to fruition. It's a great tome to check in with your health also.
Animals, so misunderstood and so deserving of better treatment all over the world.
