This little poem was inspired by sunflower seeds we planted for a client who not only wanted sunflowers planted along their garden but were in need of one of life’s little miracles or blessings. This species of plant is not native to our environment and at almost 9,000 ft the likelihood of its growth was uncertain.
A warm, amber sunset danced in front of my lens. The sun gracefully weaved in and out of clouds, the sky like a sea of gold reflecting the warmest hues over the deepest, darkest canyon. It was absolutely mesmerizing, I could not take my eyes off of the grand show. We draw all things from nature, color palettes, textures, cycles, inspiration and more! We often speak down to ourselves when we see our reflection in a mirror. We point out lines, rolls, uneven textures and we allow ourselves to feel lesser because we consider these to be blemishes not beauty. We think if we could just change these undesirable flaws we would feel content, we could accept ourselves because we look what we feel is acceptable.
