A desert highway. Victoria Lise 2017

The Mojave Desert Pt. 2

Hi again friends! I’ve returned with Pt. 2 of the Mojave Desert series. I am so grateful so many of you enjoyed Pt. 1’s photos and content. It truly is an honor to be able to share with you the magic of many places and the adventures in between. So let’s get to it shall we? The desert has a way with re-centering my perspective and altering how I view my priorities. Nature itself always draws me deep into introspection, giving the space which encourages a clear mind and a less anxious nervous system. Which is largely why I live…

Victoria Lise Photographs Santa Cruz Fog

Morning Fog & Internet Connection

If you look closely or zoom in you can see the rather large, Brown Pelican. He sits amongst Brandt’s and Double-crested Cormorants, or at least that is what I believe them to be from the little bit of research I did. They sat there faithfully everyday, undisturbed by the surfers and other ocean dwellers. The early morning fog provided an alluring yet peaceful backdrop, revealing the surrounding Santa Cruz Mountains ever-so-slightly. The Honey-Mooners Return

Well, we made it back from our grand adventure on the road! We actually returned last week but we haven’t had working internet hence my long-standing absence. That’s life in the mountains for you~ thank goodness for the ability to set up a hotspot from a cell phone! A gentle reminder from the universe that I am not in control as much as I would like to think so and perhaps there’s a plan greater than my own. We drove through Colorado,…

The Kind of People You Meet While Walking Down the Street

The kind of people you meet while walking down the street is a series I’ll be hosting weekly on ordinary encounters with extraordinary people. These folks may be often or rather easily overlooked in todays bustling society, or perhaps always overlooked. They each graced me with their unique yet immeasurable magic and good-natured stories. Maureen  We met Maureen while helping an elderly client with her garden. Maureen happened to be her neighbor and shared a deep love of plants and trees. Our client actually suggested we walk over to Maureen’s yard and visit her home which she described as ‘museum-like‘. We…

Zak A.  Zak was standing on the corner of 6th & Whiterock when we passed him by. He stood holding a sign made of cardboard and what appeared to be a walking staff made of the Yucca plant. The walking staff stood tall and from it…
