Timeless Treasures from The Road

Happy Tuesday friends, trailblazers, and road runners! Over the last 12 days my crew (husband + dog) and I have been on the road, on the beach, and in the desert. It was another amazing road trip and I collected quite the treasures to share with you all. My favorite souvenirs are (surprise, surprise) photographs and while at the start of our trip I was shocked with how little I was using my camera, I did end up taking more than a fair share of snaps. Like I’ve said here before “we miss 100% of the shots we never take”. I have…

6 Tips for Road Tripping With Dogs

You all may have noticed that we never leave the dog behind while traveling near or far. Yes, in 3 years not once have we set sail or trail without him -though to be perfectly clear he doesn’t like boats at all. It may be a challenge to comprehend why we would opt to travel with a dog who isn’t exactly mild or even well-mannered in a vehicle, it’s not that he doesn’t like the ride, although were not exactly sure what it is, perhaps excitement. Hopefully, the lack of snow does not negatively impact the remarkable display of summers wildflowers strewn annually throughout our beautiful, open valley. Fingers crossed, though I’ve never been disappointed by natures hand in artistry. In honor of my favorite season (summer and fall argue about being favorites themselves) I put together a collection of wildflower captures that emit the Spring-like…

The Ugly Truth Behind Blogging & The Real Investment

Blogging is an investment way beyond finances. Sure you may invest in your domain, host, camera equipment, maybe even a web developer but the greatest investment you will give to your blog is time. Countless blogs have invested in all the above and more than I would even be able to tell you about (let’s be honest) but nothing sets a blog apart from another than seeing dedication, commitment, and authenticity from the person or persons running the platform. When I began blogging I realized being a blogger came with a stigma, admittedly one I knew nothing about whatsoever. It…

The Stress of Visiting Home

Since moving back to Colorado in 2013 I’ve had mixed emotions when it comes to visiting home. On one hand it is extremely exciting, the anticipation of seeing loved ones I may see only once a year or once every other year, and to see how little Ole Delaware has been since I’ve been away. And then there is the overstimulation of excitement from everyone who wants to get together. It is a gift to be so loved and to have many people want to spend time with you but it can also be completely overwhelming. Maybe you can relate?…
