Year after year, Crested Butte’s wildflowers continue to leave visitors and locals in utter awe, suspending one in a state of elevated bliss. This summer was beyond measure with hillsides covered in gold, violet, crimson, scarlet- a palette of natures finest seasonal colors. Fields of diverse native plants all growing together. They sprouted early, and went on to be late bloomers, even now flowers are blossoming above tree level. Today is the last day of Virgo, ruled by the earth element, and tomorrow we move into Libra which is ruled by air. A change in seasons has already been underway,…

Summers Simple Pleasures
The clouds above moved gently from the breath of summers breeze. Cloud shadows cast overtop the landscape shifting the perspective with each gust and carrying faint scents of hardy foliage. The sun was rising overhead blanketing the earth in its warmth, ascending in the sky, as we were ascending the mountain one purposeful step at a time. Field Of Dreams Crested Butte, Colorado
Summer solstice ahh! This is probably my favorite day of the year, the celebration of the summer season. Long sun soaked days, warm balmy nights, the simple sounds made by the birds and the bugs, the contrast of bluebird skies and lush green landscapes. And then here in Crested Butte there’s the bounty of glorious wildflowers. It is truly unlike anything I’ve been witness too and keeps me longing for summers return. The feeling is relative to standing underneath a waterfall of fireworks only better because the magic isn’t manmade. No one landscaped the wild, there was no miracle grow…
Happy Spring Rocky Mountain Wildflower Edition
Happy Spring treasured friends and fellow trailblazers! Spring may actually show its signs here (in the high country of Colorado) earlier than years before as we’ve had much less snow this winter season than any I’ve experienced in the past. Hopefully, the lack of snow does not negatively impact the remarkable display of summers wildflowers strewn annually throughout our beautiful, open valley. Fingers crossed, though I’ve never been disappointed by natures hand in artistry. In honor of my favorite season (summer and fall argue about being favorites themselves) I put together a collection of wildflower captures that emit the Spring-like…
